Join a Committee
Amnesty International
Organises publicity including letter writing on behalf of political prisoners,
child labourers etc. throughout the world. (See Ms Hickman).
Arts Committee
Promotes, supports and initiates Art activities within the school. Responds
to Arts happening in the Nelson community and acknowledges artistic achievements
within our college. Organises 'Arts Week' at the college. (See Ms Heinz
and Arts Captain).
Ball Committee
Year 13 committee that organises and co-ordinates the School Ball. (See
Mrs Davies).
HAGS Committee
Health Action Group promotes health issues relevant to students at Nelson
College for Girls. (See Mrs Philips).
NISA Committee
Nelson International Students Association, this is an inter-school group
that is open to both students from overseas and interested New Zealand
students, which meets socially and organises a variety of activities.

Sports Committee
A weekly meeting is held to organise and assist with sports related activities,
eg Inter-Form Competitions, Coaching, Sports days and Sports Awards. (See
Mr Marsh and Games Captain).
Social Committee
Organises student social functions for the junior school, liasing with
Nelson College. This includes three junior dances throughout the year.

Social Services Committee
They fundraise, largely through mufti days, to support charities and organisations,
as well as our two sponsored overseas children in Fiji and Tanzania. (See
Mr Allen). |
