RECEPTION AND SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR
Nelson College for Girls | Te Kura Tamawāhine o Whakatū is looking for a vibrant and professional individual to join our team as a part-time reception and school administrator, working 18.5 hours per week. This job-share, permanent role runs during term time, with fixed hours, Tuesday to Friday. Please note that at the start of each school year, this role begins one week prior to students returning.
As the welcoming face of our kura, you will provide a warm and professional greeting to visitors, students, and staff alike. This is a busy and varied position where no two days are the same. Alongside reception duties, you will support our Deans with a range of administrative tasks. You’ll need to be proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new school IT systems.
We’re seeking someone with excellent organisational and time management skills, who thrives in an environment requiring independence, initiative, and professionalism. A positive attitude and the ability to juggle multiple priorities are essential. Due to the job-sharing nature of the role, clear communication and effective handover processes with your co-receptionist will be critical to ensure tasks are completed seamlessly and any issues are addressed collaboratively.
This position is remunerated in accordance with the Support Staff in Schools’ Collective Agreement.
This is a position in which a high level of trust is required. Comprehensive screening and police vetting processes will take place as part of our recruitment process to meet the requirements of The Children’s Act, 2014.
