Nelson College for Girls is in the heart of beautiful Whakatū/Nelson. We are proud of the many successes of our ākonga and our ārahi programme, which supports and uplifts every student.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher Aide to join our Learning Support team. This is a fixed-term position and a wonderful opportunity to be part of a motivated and caring group of staff who are passionate about making a difference for our ākonga.

The role reports to our SENCO (Special Education Needs Co-ordinator). We are looking for a positive, vibrant team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a great sense of humour, and the ability to build strong, respectful relationships with ākonga from a range of backgrounds and with varying needs. Strengths, interest or experience in numeracy and/or Māori medium would be advantageous.

You’ll need to be resilient, adaptable, and able to maintain a calm and encouraging presence. While prior experience in education or working with young people is desirable, it is not essential.

Remuneration will be paid in accordance with the Support Staff in Schools’ Collective Agreement, Teacher Aide matrix grade B/C, depending on skills and experience.
