BOARDING HOUSE SUPERVISOR
Nelson College for Girls Boarding Hostel, CJ House, is home away from home, offering a warm, caring and fun environment whereby our boarders are encouraged and given opportunities to grow in confidence and independence. Our culture and environment also encourage boarders to build lifetime friendships.
CJ House has boarders aged from year 7 to year 13. We have dedicated Boarding House Supervisors who provide our boarders with wonderful care. We are now looking for a part-time supervisor to join our team. This role would suit a dedicated superstar who would relish the opportunity to work in a vibrant, fun, family-orientated environment.
The hours can be up to 30 per week and will include one weekend day. A minimum of two consecutive days off during the 7-day roster period is always maintained. Below is the proposed schedule (with potential to negotiate):
Monday: 5:30 – 10:30pm
Tuesday: 5:30 – 10:30pm
Wednesday: 3:00 – 10:00pm
Thursday: 3:00 – 10:00pm
Sunday: 12:00 – 6:00pm
Term time is busy with the buzz of students. To be successful in this position you need to be an effective communicator, able to listen and be empathic, while still maintaining a high level of oversight of our students/boarders. You will need to have a good understanding and tolerance of modern teenagers, be able to recognise what’s fun and when boarders may need additional support. You will need to be an energetic, enthusiastic team player, able to work both collaboratively and independently, think on your feet and always ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students.
