Sports director
Nelson College for Girls is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sport to lead and develop our sports programme. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the sporting experience for our students, fostering participation, nurturing talent, and promoting excellence across all levels.
At Nelson College for Girls, we believe sport is a powerful way to educate and empower students, helping them achieve their potential while developing confidence, resilience, and lifelong friendships. The Director of Sport will provide strategic and operational leadership, coordinating staff, coaches, and students, while building strong connections with regional sporting organisations and the wider community.
This permanent, part-time position is 32 hours per week (days negotiable), with some work outside standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel to sporting events. The role is responsible for developing and delivering a high-quality, inclusive, and sustainable sports programme, managing budgets, resources, and facilities, and promoting the College’s sporting achievements within the school and community. The role commences on Monday 12 January 2026.
The successful applicant will be a strong leader, an effective communicator, and an enthusiastic team player, committed to student development, wellbeing, and achievement. Experience in sports administration, management, or education is essential, along with the ability to inspire and motivate staff, coaches, and students.
